HAPPINESS!!!

All people want to be pleased in mentally, economically, socially, and so on. Happiness is a kind of quality, which can give everyone a enjoyable life. According to dictionary, happiness means prosperity, pleasure, joy, a state of well-being, and contentment. Additionally, in accord with Ursula Le Guin “Happiness is based on a just discrimination of what is necessary… (2).” Yes, I agree with Ursula Le Guin that happiness depends on the importance of our necessity. For gaining happiness, people never think about the other’s loss and can do any kind of work. We have seen that in the novel The Giver, The Lottery, and The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, few people are scapegoating due to other’s pleasure. Scapgoating a person for all people’s welfare is not fictional event; these events are very common in our practical life but in different way. In our country, most of the people become happy with having much money and wealth. They want much more money than their present or past position. However, they do not think, in which way they are earning that money. Sometimes, merchants and political leaders become richer day by day. They always want to be richer and so, most of the time, they do their jobs in dishonest way. They do not give their taxes timely to the government, and they always try to blame the general people. They do this because they do not respect the general people. Political leaders respect general people only during their election. After being selected, they completely forget about the general people. After election, they commit to many crimes and corruptions, and the normal people are being victim of the result of their crimes and corruptions. They do it because they think that the powerless people are useless; they never protest against the powerful people. As example, during the admition of any class of any school, the powerful people give much money to the principal of that school as bribe, if their children do not allow in entrance exam. Additionally, sometimes, they treat the authority of the school if the authority does not take the money. In this way, the general students who are poor, powerless, but genius are not getting chance to admit at their expected institutions. The powerful people are using their powers in bad way due to only their happiness. They never think the other general but meritorious students that what will happen to their life. This example is the most common event in our country. In conclusion, all people are selfish in this society. Everyone thinks about their own benefits. For this reason, happiness is being polluted by selfishness.
